Vaidya Harikumar Namboodiri BAMS
Board Member
Dr. Harikumar Namboodiri, BAMS, brings profound lineage, mastery, and spiritual depth to his role as a board member at Matre Sofia. His presence reflects the organization’s commitment to ancestral wisdom, whole-person healing, and the cultivation of inner and collective harmony.
Originating from Kerala, India, and steeped in a heritage of spiritual seekers, Dr. Harikumar’s journey into Ayurveda has been shaped by a lineage of scholars and masters. His studies began at Coimbatore's Ayurveda College—structured like a traditional gurukulam—where he absorbed foundational principles of Ayurveda. Under the guidance of luminaries like Vaidya Madham Cheriya Narayanan Namboodiri, he mastered rheumatology, pediatric care, gynecology, and the unique remedies found in traditional systems of Ayurveda.
His deep immersion in Panchakarma therapy came under his Guru, Vadakkeppad Ashtamoorthy Namboodiri, a renowned Vaidya, whom Dr. Harikumar honors as his guiding light. He further specialized in ophthalmology under Dr. NPP Namboodiri. Since 2012, he has been a vital force at Vaidyagrama, an Ayurvedic healing hospital, where he now oversees its fourth cluster. His clinical approach is distinguished by his ability to weave classical Ayurvedic principles with personalized care, grounded in spiritual faith and intuitive presence.
At Matre Sofia, Dr. Harikumar’s contributions are invaluable. His presence strengthens the bridge between ancient wisdom and contemporary healing, informing the organization’s strategic vision with authenticity, spiritual depth, and compassionate discernment. His insight helps guide Matre Sofia’s mission to cultivate sacred leadership, intergenerational healing, and regenerative service rooted in cultural integrity and inner awakening.
