A LETTER TO DONORS & SUPPORTERS

Dear Friend and Supporter,

Thank you for expressing your desire to support Matre Sofia!

At a time when the world feels increasingly disconnected, Matre Sofia is rooted in the belief that every child, every beginning, and every act of care is sacred. We are building a spiritually grounded, culturally sensitive, and strategically sound model of holistic support—from pre-conception through early childhood—for families across the globe.

What makes this possible is the deep commitment, lived experience, and steady leadership of our founding trustees. We invite you to meet the two women whose devotion and complementary strengths shape Matre Sofia’s unfolding path.

Meet the Founders of Matre Sofia

Guided by Spirit. Grounded in Strategy. Serving Sacred Beginnings.

Vinita Prachi Murarka

Founding Trustee | NAMA Certified Ayurvedic Doctor | Waldorf Educator | Author | M.Ed. Candidate

Vinita Prachi Murarka founded Matre Sofia from a place of deep spiritual commitment and pragmatic care for future generations. An Indian-born U.S. citizen, she brings together academic rigor, spiritual discipline, and cross-cultural experience to create a holistic model of care rooted in Ayurveda, Anthroposophy, Indigenous Wisdom, and regenerative healing.

Vinita holds a degree in Social Policy and Education from Northwestern University (cum laude) and is completing her M.Ed. in Holistic Education at UC Santa Cruz. She is a NAMA Certified Ayurvedic Doctor, Waldorf teacher, children’s book author, and doula candidate. Her global service includes grassroots work in India with Safai Vidyalaya, Manav Sadhana, and Amrita University, as well as international partnerships with Atlas Service Corps and Ashoka’s Youth Venture.

Her formation includes five years as a pilgrim (nun) across India, where she studied Vedanta, scriptures, and esoteric Vedic sciences with revered teachers. A Loka Mitra Fellow and WILD Foundation grantee, she serves on the Advisory Board of Engender (South Africa) and regularly collaborates with global leaders in human rights, ecology, and spiritual transformation.

Vinita’s leadership is guided by ethics, cultural humility, and spiritual depth—qualities that animate her role in shaping Matre Sofia as a spiritually sovereign body rooted in integrity, wholeness, and collective care.

Mayanā Clarissa Lisboa, MBA

Founding Trustee | Founding Operations & Strategy Lead | NAMA Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner | Yoga Practitioner

Maya is a Brazilian-born U.S. citizen and MBA graduate who brings nearly 30 years of experience in Ayurveda, Yoga, and Pancha Karma, alongside a deep background in nonprofit leadership and organizational development. Maya’s work is instrumental in clarifying mission and vision, designing sustainable operations, and guiding the organization’s overall structure. She ensures that Matre Sofia has the strategic clarity, governance, and alignment to serve diverse communities with both integrity and care.

A lifelong student of Yoga under Master Yogi Baba Hari Dass, Maya leads with heart-centered wisdom and steady presence. She is the founder of Sacred Shakti Wellness for Women, where she has offered healing programs to hundreds of women through the lens of Ayurveda and whole-person wellness.

With over 15 years of experience managing nonprofits and spiritual centers, Maya brings a rare blend of structure and soul to Matre Sofia’s leadership. Her cross-cultural fluency—rooted in Brazil, India, and the U.S.—shapes her inclusive, collaborative approach.

Maya is known for her ability to translate vision into form, aligning strategy with spirit, and tending to the practical steps that allow sacred service to flourish.
